The San Diego Tall Club is a social organization whose purpose is to promote friendship among tall people and to sponsor activities to benefit its members. We are affiliated with Tall Clubs International (TCI) , a group of over 60 tall clubs throughout the United States and Canada.

A NORTHERN CALIFORNIA SOCIAL CLUB FOR TALL MEN AND WOMEN

The Tall Club of Orange County is a not-for-profit social organization whose purpose is to provide a wide range of social activities for adults of above average height. We are located in Orange County, Southern California. Our activities range from social events such as monthly dances and house parties to bike riding, volleyball, and beach parties. We have fund raisers and donate to the National Marfan Foundation and also offer college scholarships.

My name is Melissa. I am 32, which really is quite an awesome age to be I must say. Old enough to have learnt alot yet young enough to learn so much more. I live in Melbourne, as in the place that was just named the most liveable city in the world. It’s awesome, it’s fantastic, it’s a whole swirling cornucopia of fabulous. I’m tall, when I say tall, I mean TALL, i’m 6’2 or 188cm, it’s a blessing & a curse. No I don’t play basketball, no my parents aren’t tall, & yes I am fully aware that i’m really tall for a woman. Basically i’m just me, i’m fabulous, i’m complex, i’m original, i’m laid back, i’m occassionally inexplicably happy, basically i’m a whole plethora of spectactularness. Anyway there’s a long list of things I like & things I don’t, but I wont bore you with the details. Let’s just say some stuff I like, some stuff I don’t.

I’m a tall girl. I love being tall most of the time. But sometimes (ok, a lot of the time) random strangers or people I’ve just met feel the need to point out my height (6’2″) or ask if I played basketball (yes, I did). I don’t love that. For the most part, this blog is ongoing documentation of what I’m going to call “tall encounters.” I usually have a tall encounter a few times a week. Sometimes they are amusing, sometimes just plain annoying, but this is my attempt to find the humor in every situation. I’ll also attempt to document what it’s like being a tall person in a little world.

6'0" Mel's Blog. Running is my ESCAPE. Life gets busy two kids, a wonderful husband, friends, full time career, traffic, errands, etc.. Wash-rinse-repeat. When I lace I enter a new world. Anxiety and stress melt away, just me racing my Garmin. I pray that my body will hold up so I can continue my addiction and accomplish something amazing.

Long Tall Ally’s Tales from the Scales started in September 2008 as a way to deal with the ‘feelings’ (air quotes much needed) around what would turn in to shedding an entire person’s worth of weight. No longer could I run to the fridge to push down the emotion so I started running to the laptop and blogging it out instead. The blog has been turned into a book which I am hawking round various agents on the off chance of you all being able to get your mitts on it in your local bookshop. Since the early days Long Tall Ally has evolved and is attempting to become a little bit of everything, not just me wanging on about the size of my bum or how single I am (answers: pretty big and very!) and I’m hoping that you, dear reader, will find something of interest contained amongst these pages. Or something to make you laugh at the very least.

Katherine “Kat” Smith is formerly a co-host of a four year, syndicated morning radio program with ABC Radio Networks, Inc. Her Wednesday one hour show, A Woman’s Point of View, focused on relationships. Recently certified as a relationship coach Kat also created and manufactures a communication game for couples. She is native of New Orleans, who learned early that life is not fair, it’s just life. One of twelve siblings from ten fathers, Kat was born to a mother who’s own confusion with love created damaging patterns that she and her sisters repeated in their own relationships. Now she speaks to help women who cannot articulate or communicate their experiences with topics that concentrate on love and life enrichment, clarity of message in both career or personal relationships and recovery. Kat is the author of several books including Romantic Retreats in Texas, Seeds From Mama’s Garden and has several programs and products that support healthy emotional living.
